Paradise Place is going to be in the Crested Butte 4th of July Parade!!!

Please let me know if you are interested in having your child in the parade with us or if you would like to come along too.  We’ll be cruisin on Elk in my truck and possibly pulling Tim’s boat based on the number of those who are interested. We will meet at the school at 10:30 Monday morning. Your child will be at the school when the parade is over as well.

Fundraiser Volunteers Needed

We will also be “selling” water and soda on the corner of 4th and Elk as a fundraiser for the school. We’ll be accepting $2 donations for water and soda. I will need help running the stand while I have the kidos in the parade. I have 1 hour time slots that I will need covered. It’s not too late to take care of your parent hours from last year or they can go towards this fall’s. Sign up will be with the parade’s on the front door.

Click to view and print newsletter It’s been a wonderful fall season and we are looking forward to adding even more family fun this October.  Please check the website Calendar for all upcoming events and volunteer opportunities at the school.

  • Please remember to complete any of your child’s registration forms and update immunization records asap!
  • October is filled with chances for you to gain some parenting hours by helping out at school functions, or doing work around the school… We are doing some work to Doves and Lambs rooms this week, we need volunteers Thursday afternoon. – Call Ben.

Souper Supper & Pumpkin Party

 COSTUME CONTEST & SOUPER SUPPER: Invite your friends and their children to come for great food & beer with prizes for the kidos.  This is a “free” event and we are asking families to pay what they can, (suggested donation of $15 per adult and $5 per child).  There will be a costume contest so dress your best! The supper is on Saturday, October 24 at Parish Hall, next to Queen of All Saints, at 401 Sopris from 4:00 – 6:00p.m. We will have fall games and activities for the children and a supper of soup from local restaurants, salad, bread and dessert for the whole family to enjoy.  A fun family event and school fundraiser.
PUMPKIN PARTY: On Friday, October 29th everyone is invited to the Pumpkin Party at Paradise Place School from 9:30-11:00a.m.  All Paradise Place children and their siblings are encouraged to attend wearing non-scary costumes. Special activities and special nutritious treats will be served. Parents, please look for the special Pumpkin Party sign-up sheet in your child’s classroom.

**both of these events are great opportunities for you to get involved in your child’s school activities and fundraising efforts. Please contact Ben and look for sign up sheets at the school to see how you can help.

Kids Cooking Class Fundraiser

Volunteers are still needed for the next event!

This summer Paradise Place School has been fortunate to have the sponsorship of Genesis Raw Foods, a nutrition and wellness based business that is new to the Gunnison Valley.  Laurel Marr, Owner of Genesis Raw Food & Paradise Place Board Member, has been generous to donate her time and business to a successful fundraising effort this summer and fall.  The series of Raw Food Classes and fundraising events kicked off during the 2010 Crested Butte Wildflower Festival with a Raw Foods Dinner and Wine Pairing at the Tipple House in Mt. Crested Butte.

On August 3rd, 2010 children from around the Crested Butte community were invited to the UCC to participate in a Kid’s Raw Foods Cooking Class. Laurel, Mr. Ben, and other parents volunteered their time to demonstrate how to create green smoothies, berry parfait, lettuce wraps and pizza rolls with locally grown, organic produce provided by Genesis Raw Food and Local Farms First.   Then it was time for the kids to take a crack at these delicious creations…
