Paradise Place is looking for a few good men & women to help on our board.
What it IS:
1) An easy way to contribute to something so much bigger than our normal day in – day out routines; the growth of preschool aged children as they learn everything from language acquisition, cooperative social interaction, and testing out their place in the world, to the academic foundations of math, science, reading, and writing that give them solid footing heading into kindergarten and beyond.
2) Opportunity to fulfill the parent hour requirements in a way that has longlasting
and invaluable returns for their time and effort.
3) A chance to help when help is needed.
4) A free drop in day a quarter
And with that in mind, here are a few things being a PP Board Member is NOT :
1) an obligation to attend and participate in every fundraiser all year long
2) an additional financial commitment
3) an obligation to be a “jack of all trades”- we’re are wanting people to help
where they can and feel they are a good fit.
President – responsible to lead and attend meetings, meet with Mr. Ben
periodically, Director reviews
Vice- President – attend meetings, step in for P. when P. not available
Secretary – responsible to attend meetings and take minutes
Treasurer- responsible to attend meetings, keep financial records
P.R. – person(s) to hang posters, edit newspaper editorials, get info to
KBUT, attend meetings
Fundraising – person(s) to brainstorm and execute fundraisers. (If a group
of people want to take this one on and each head up just one fundraiser a
year, that works too)
Building and Grounds – attend meetings, work with Mr. Ben on issues
related to the structural needs of the school building and grounds
Please feel free to contact Mr. Ben or Laurel Marr, laurel@genesisrawfood.com if you have any questions. Also fell free to let us know if you would like to attend a meeting to get a feel for things.
